Discovering SEO to be a Worthy Foe & a Mighty Allie!
When I was in my mid teens I would stumble across the classic make a shit load of money online with this crazy expensive product pages. I didn't know in the end it would all lead to SEO, but to sum up my story to getting the point of SEO. I went through the wringer with these products to make money online. First it was being sold to do crap work like surveys or micro work that never, NEVER panned out. Then I got smart, AH HA! I'll become the one to push the surveys, I'm one step up the pyramid. But then the training they told me to do to get people to do it turned out to bother friends and family and to post on weird directories and spam forms.... Ahhh!! What? That's didn't work. But suddenly I kept working and understanding more about this field and uncovering layer after layer of work at home bullshit until I finally found SEO. Which is search engine optimization, it's a tactic of testing and pulling at the Google algorithm to make them think your site(s) are most relevant for a specific keyword typed into Google.
So I tried that, and damn same thing again. I'd get the programs teaching me how to market online and NOTHING, EVER, confused... ALWAYS!!! But I kept at it, I would pass on hanging out with friends and family to keep learning this crazy marketing stuff. Which then of course lead more into self help stuff, did that, law of attraction stuff... (which I believe in wholeheartly). But to keep it some what short, I went further up the pyramid, and now I honestly I feel more of the heart beat of SEO then most people that ever take up this adventure of ranking websites, BUT I also have mentors who are so much farther. I was happy to finally find a bunch of people who don't shroud the portion of the pyramid their on with mystery, I can at least where I'm going now and understand it.
SEO is certainly an interesting career path, and it's not for the inpatient or those looking to cash in BIG shortly after starting (it can happen though btw, but it's not best to walk in trying to hit a homerun right away)... It takes many many months of learning in your Bat cave, even Kotton Grammar did this (the guy who can be said to be one of the best SEOs in the world).
So this is where I'm at with SEO, I understand it well, I'm understanding it so well now I believe I can offer products and training because of that. So I'm moving up the pyramid and it keeps getting more and more fun!! It's hard path with no help (which I didn't have when I first started!). But I keep going!
